What I Think I Know for Sure…

I have cancer, and my body is in decline. Things are getting a little less comfortable each week. The pain is tolerable for now, though I’m not exactly looking forward to what may come next.

Along these lines, it’s clear that my days of living up a flight of stairs are numbered. The one-story section of our main house has been patiently waiting five years for a makeover. We’ve never quite had the funds or the space — until now, when necessity has given the nudge.

So, I decided to use the bit of savings I’ve been tucking away since my divorce — twenty-three years of careful squirreling! — to finally make this space livable for the chapter ahead.

And… I’m almost through it all, and the project’s not quite complete.

So, here I am — asking for a little community support to get ‘er done. Every bit helps. Truly, every dime makes a difference right now. (donate here)

Below are photos of the construction and the dear friends who’ve rolled up their sleeves and jumped in. We’ve had some fabulous “work party” days — Led by my brother Ed, and dear friend Journey, big thanks to all who jumped into taking out the old bathroom, opening up the main room, and even getting the big tub art project built in and ready to go. We’re excited and hopeful that it’ll all come together in time for a big holiday celebration!

I’m deeply grateful for this fantastic constellation of fabulous humans who continue to hold me — and this house — with so much love.

With gratitude and love,
Kim
